Where Duro-Last® Began
John R. Burt was a man of many trades. He worked as a lumberjack, carpenter, tool and die maker, and eventually got into the swimming pool business. John originally founded Tri-City Vinyl to manufacture his own pool liners.
One day he had an epiphany: If his product could keep water in, it could also keep water out. In 1978, that bright idea became the Duro-Last Roofing System. Today, Duro-Last is the world’s largest manufacturer of custom-fabricated roofing systems.
Even with a great product, many roofing system failures are often a result of the workmanship on-site. That’s why Duro-Last developed custom prefabrication methods and specialized equipment that allows installers to complete nearly 100 percent of the difficult roof details and up to 85 percent of field seams under ideal factory-controlled conditions. The result? Lower on-site labor costs and better installation quality!
